Since the 1980's, Fairbanks has hosted a variety of unique ‘Midnight Sun Soccer’ events during the summer solstice. We celebrate our ability to play the world's greatest sport all through the night with the sun still shining! In addition to the tournament, Fairbanks has several fun, family-friendly festivities that take place during the solstice weekend, such as the annual Midnight Sun Run 10K, the Alaska Goldpanners Midnight Sun baseball game and the Midnight Sun Festival downtown! Float the Chena River, try your luck panning for gold or spend a day at Denali National Park.
